Leaving Oslo is based on a letter the director’s father wrote when he returned to Palestine with the first PLO returnees allowed back after the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1994. Twenty years from that day, the filmmaker reflects on his father’s letter as he follows the same route to leave Palestine – to leave this half dream and failed victory; a land cursed with peace processes, with dreams blocked by checkpoints and frustration.
