TPFF Party in the Pits:Gaza Surf Club

ABOUT GAZA SURF CLUB
Trapped in "the world's largest open-air prison" and ruled by war, a new generation is drawn to the beaches. Sick of occupation and political gridlock, they find their own personal freedom in the waves of the Mediterranean - they are the surfers of Gaza. Ibrahim, 23, dreams of surfing in Hawaii with the pros, but can not get a visa to travel. Sabah’s father taught her to surf as a young girl, but as a teen surfing is off-limits. Abu Jay, 42, teaches his community how to ride waves and protect their hard-to-come by surfboards. The film is a portrait of people who dare to dream beyond the confines of their reality

We're so excited to kick off our 11th year with TPFF's most popular summer event! Join us under the stars at Christie Pits for a night of music, food and fun before we watch the critically-acclaimed Gaza Surf Club Film!

This year's Party in the Pits will take place on Friday, August 10th and will feature a souk/market featuring local Palestinian artisans and food trucks for some delicious treats.
