GAZA LIVES: HONOURING PALESTINIAN ARTISTS & WRITERS

Gaza Lives: Honouring Palestinian Artists & Writers

An afternoon of readings, music, and art

Sunday, April 7, 2024 - 3 PM - 6 PM

Tickets: https://GazaLives.eventbrite.ca

Please join TPFF and special guests for a second edition of Gaza Lives: Honouring Palestinian Artists & Writers.  We heard the disappointment of so many who were not able to join us in February when we first hosted this event. And we heard from so many who attended that it was a moving and cathartic gathering. So, TPFF is hosting another tribute to the art and artists of Gaza for those who could not join us the first time.

Gaza is home to a flourishing cultural and artistic community despite an illegal occupation and blockade. In a matter of months, Israel has destroyed Gaza’s educational, cultural and artistic institutions; and killed so many of Gaza’s emerging and established artists. And yet, amid the rubble, music, art and joy still lives, providing comforts and tales by its presence.

Join TPFF for an unifying afternoon of art and solidarity with Palestine. Our special guests from Toronto’s diverse arts community will help us share a selection of works from Palestinian artists we’ve lost, and those who are visioning Gaza’s liberated future - we will be reading their words, admiring their paintings and listening to music that may have inspired them. We will carry forward their aspirations to tell the stories of Gaza through their works.

Come early and pick up some TPFF merchandise or books courtesy of our literary partners Another Story Bookshop. After the event there will be a short Ramadan-friendly reception including delicious take-away iftar meals for our guests courtesy of our sponsors Lebanese Garden

Proceeds from the event will support TPFF’s 2024 programming and help us to continue showcasing Palestinian artistry, produce original films and offer educational workshops. If you are unable to attend but would like to support please follow this link: https://www.tpff.ca/2024-fundraiser

Registration: Eventbrite $30 + Donation option: https://GazaLives.eventbrite.ca

Wheelchair/Transit accessible downtown Toronto location will be emailed to ticket holders prior to the event.
