This exquisitely shot film is a symbolic tale about recognition, independence and originality. Two young filmmakers, Mustafa and Ayoub, are struggling to make their new film because they have to adjust their ideas and budget to fit the regulations of different funds. On the night before their meeting with potential foreign funders, they slept and dreamt. This is the story of an orange that grew without a tree. Waiting for P.O. Box is an unorthodox film highlighting the challenges of filmmaking in the Middle East and it made history by becoming the first Syrian film in-competition at the Cannes film festival (2012).
