Trapped in "the world's largest open-air prison" and ruled by war, a new generation is drawn to the beaches. Sick of occupation and political gridlock, they find their own personal freedom in the waves of the Mediterranean - they are the surfers of Gaza. Ibrahim, 23, dreams of surfing in Hawaii with the pros, but can not get a visa to travel. Sabah’s father taught her to surf as a young girl, but as a teen surfing is off-limits. Abu Jay, 42, teaches his community how to ride waves and protect their hard-to-come by surfboards. The film is a portrait of people who dare to dream beyond the confines of their reality.
Please note: this film screening ends to allow enough travel time for the Trio Joubran concert.
