Raised in a refugee camp in the West Bank, young Walaa and her siblings grew up without their mother who was held as a political prisoner in an Israeli jail. After her mother’s release in a high profile prisoner swap, Walaa is determined to pursue her dream of joining the Palestinian Security Forces and serving her country. Despite the odds and discouragement from those around her she is accepted into the police academy. Following Walaa from age 15-21, director Christy Garland gains unprecedented access to capture Walaa’s rebellious spirit which got her to the academy but also conflicts with the strict discipline that the academy demands.
