North American Premiere
On February 10, 2011, an estimated 8,000 spectators filled the Feisal al-Husseini Stadium in the West Bank to witness the opening match of the Palestine Women’s National Football League. The film tells the stories of four trailblazing team members as they navigate checkpoints and overcome societal expectations to achieve their football dreams. While following this passionate team as they prepare for local and international matches, Qaoud’s film also captures how these young sportswomen have fought perceptions that football is a male sport, and emerged as important role models for the next generation of female players.
