Letters from the Diaspora is a project that aims to create audio-visual art inspired by letters. Participants based in Palestinian camps in Lebanon work with a team of audio-visual artists from the same community. A Letter to Ahmad, by Alaa Al-Ali, is the first Letter to be produced. Al Ali’s poetic film weaves together footage from one of Lebanon’s refugee camps with a narrated letter from one of the camp’s residents to his childhood friend Ahmad, who now lives in Europe.
